Friends & Family Christmas tells the story of romance that
develops between two career-driven women, Dani & Amelia, who become the
targets of a matchmaking stunt by their parents. Wanting to keep them at bay so
they can focus on their careers, the two agree to pretend they've made a love
connection, only to develop a genuine bond as they enlist each others' help over
the course of a hectic holiday week. In addition to the lesbian storyline, the
film also features gay supporting character Tanner (played by
Jeremy Hoffman). Tanner is Dani's roommate, best friend, and co-worker.
The two are often inseparable as Tanner supports Dani through a series of work
events, and keeps her parents busy when needed. He also encourages her to open
her heart when he realizes that she might be developing real feelings for
Amelia. Tanner's musical talent is also put to work and he jumps into action to
help Dani with her big romantic gesture for Amelia in the climax. He also joins
the women and their parents for Christmas dinner, along with their lesbian
co-worker Kylie.
