Heartstopper - Season 2 ⁞⁞ Series Spotlight

Nick & Charlie return for Season 2 of the hit Netflix teen romance Heartstopper. For the new season, the boys enjoyed their time alone as they attempted to slowly go public with their relationship, supported by their close circle of ever-growing friends. Charlie (played by Joe Locke) struggled to share more of his past torment and it's resulting self-harm with Nick, while Nick (played by Kit Connor) grew more comfortable with his bisexuality and his desire to be open about their relationship. Both dealt with parental conflicts, the stress of prom night, and got to experience some romance in Paris, thanks to a school trip. Season 2 also provided more exploration of other queer relationships. In addition to continued storylines for the show's trans and lesbian characters, Charlie's supportive gay teacher Mr. Ajayi (played by Fisayo Akinade) found his own romantic connection with his new colleague Mr. Farouk (played by Nima Taleghani) as they chaperoned the student trip to Paris. Upon their return home, they made plans for a date. Meanwhile, Charlie's friend Isaac (played by Tobie Donovan) experienced his own struggle on the Paris trip, as he found himself feeling the odd man out with so many in his friend group coupling up. His classmate James (played by Bradley Riches) revealed a crush on Isaac, leading to a kiss, but Isaac quickly realized that he didn't feel the attraction to James that he thought he would. This put him on a journey to discovering his asexuality. With Season 3 already announced, Charlie & Nick ended the season with a better understanding of their emotions and both boys on the verge of saying the l-word.
