Chucky (3x5) ⁞⁞ Episode Spotlight

The Syfy/USA Network horror series Chucky returned from it's third season hiatus with Episode 5, which provided a milestone for the series' human protagonists, Jake (Zackary Arthur) and Devon (Björgvin Arnarson). The two began the episode planning the next move in their efforts to rid the White House of the killer doll Chucky, with their fellow orphan pal Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind). They discussed her struggle to get back into the good graces of First Son Grant after the Halloween massacre they all witnessed in the previous episode. Lexy went off to make amends, leaving the boys to research the possibility of using voodoo to their advantage, since it was Chucky's source of power. Despite not being licensed to drive, they took a road trip to see a witch doctor (Richard Waugh), who revealed Chucky's current dilemma, that he was aging and was no longer able to move his soul to a new body.

Unwilling to let fate expire the villain, they wondered if they could somehow destroy his soul to truly end his reign of terror. On their way back to Washington, they shared their fears for the future, leading them to take control of their relationship. They made a motel pit stop and took their relationship to the next level, drawing them even closer to one another. After professing their love for each other, they departed. Jake began making plans for the future, including seeing the world together. Given that Chucky was apparently dying, Devon suggested they run off together now, sharing his fears that something could happen to one of them if they went back. Jake assured him that they were the final girls of this story and had to do what it takes to stop Chucky, for good. They got back on the road, unaware that their killer adversary was now in possession of nuclear codes.
