Bonus Track ⁞⁞ Movie Spotlight

The UK film Bonus Track presents a classic boy meets boy coming of age romance. It follows teenager George Bobbin (Joe Anders), an aspiring musician facing his final year of high school and failing almost every course. He often dreams of stage stardom and adds to his growing collection of personal music when he crosses paths with new student Max Marvin (Samuel Small), whose arrival causes a stir as he is the son of famous musician Mike Marvin (Colin Salmon). When Max takes an immediate interest in George's unique style and talent, George is caught off-guard by Max's friendship. The two team-up for the school's upcoming talent show, as Max offers to sing to one of George's songs. This leads to them spending more and more time together, bonding along the way. A school trip to an activity camp where they share a cabin leads to a major escalation in their relationship as the two share a kiss that unfortunately gets caught on camera. This leads to a local news story, a public scandal, and Max retreating from school and from George, with a plan to leave the country. The mounting worry for his upcoming performance, his struggle with his sexuality, and dealing with his parents' marital strife leads George to a breaking point. With the encouragement of his parents (Alison Sudol & Jack Davenport) and his queer teacher Andi (Susan Wokoma), he comes to terms with his feelings and with his path forward. He hits the stage for the talent show and is surprised when Max returns, joining him on stage for a show-stopping performance. The two celebrate together with their parents and George asks Max to stay in town with him, leading to another kiss as Max agrees.
