Ganymede ⁞⁞ Movie Spotlight

The gay thriller Ganymede tells the story of Lee (Jordan Doww), a small town athlete who begins to question his sexuality, which puts him under immediate pressure from his highly religious family, including his politician father Big Lee (Joe Chrest) and his emotionally unstable mother Floy (Robyn Lively). Lee quickly finds himself being haunted by a demonic creature lurking in his closet, with increasing manifestations as he develops a crush on his openly gay classmate Kyle (Pablo Castelblanco). Despite his demonic hallucinations, Lee is unable to stay away from Kyle, even when his parents forbid their interaction. His parents enlist Pastor Royer (David Koechner) to attempt to straighten Lee out. He subjects the teen to electroshock therapy, after sharing his own success in conversion away from homosexuality. Supported by his nurse mother Kim (Sofia Yepes), Kyle attempts to support Lee and get him to embrace his homosexuality. With Big Lee engaging in an extramarital affair, homophobic school bully Justin (Brady Gentry) revealing his own closeted status, Lee's hallucinations growing in terror, and Floy hiding her own major secret, things spiral out of control, with all of the characters placed on a fateful path that leads to an outburst of violence. In the end, Lee confronts his demon, as does his mother, and Kyle & Lee are saved from Royer's clutches by the quick arrivals of their moms.
