Bad Guy My Boss is a steamy BL drama that explores power dynamics in relationships as a young secretary finds himself fantasizing about his handsome, but bad tempered, boss. When his fantasies get close to coming true, he may discover there's more to his bad guy boss than he ever knew.

As a secretary, Pat (Kad Ploysupa) does his best to keep his boss Elyes (James Prescott) happy, as everyone else in the company tries their best to avoid eye contact with the tough guy in charge. Pat finds himself conflicted over his own dealing with Elyes due to his recurring fantasies that feature him getting steamy with the boss. It's soon revealed that Elyes's aggressive attitude extends beyond the boardroom and when he takes a real interest in bedding his secretary, Pat tries his hardest to resist and maintain their working relationship. Elyes works out his sexual frustrations via recurring trysts with Kim (Nattapat Suttisawan), who is left unhappy when Elyes's attention shifts to Pat. When Pat becomes more involved with company business, even consulting with Elyes' business rival Teeranai (Anakin Nontiprasit), Elyes attempts to reassert his dominance. As they spend more and more time together, both men become unable to fight their attraction, leading to sex.

But it's not an immediate happy ending as things quickly grow more complicated, and dangerous, at the office. Pat finds himself with more responsibilities, and begins training a new secretary, Thiti (Napat Rueangchaisiwawet). This causes some jealousy for Elyes, as he sees the two men getting friendly in the office. Jealousy goes both ways, as Kim looks to get back at Elyes for his own heartbreak. This becomes easier upon the arrival of another of Elyes' exes, Run (Thanuphat Poungsuwan). Elyes & Run cross paths and the latter is disappointed to see Elyes in a new romance with Pat. Run is struggling in an abusive relationship with the dangerous businessman Fei Long (Nick Gaksch). Elyes' dealing with Fei Long is immediately contentious, as Fei Long takes out his frustrations on Run through physical abuse. Elyes & Pat find themselves with another mounting threat, in the form of the angry Teeranai. It's revealed that Thiti is secretly trying to access company secrets to share with Teeranai, who is revealed to be his secret lover. When Pat uncovers Thiti's deceit, he's dismissed and Teeranai turns on him.

Kim orchestrates a construction accident that leaves Pat injured, causing Elyes's more nurturing side to come out as he cares for his young lover. The two grow closer, while the furious Teeranai abducts Run, forcing Elyes, Pat and Fei Long to come together to secure his release. Fei Long manages to rescue his love and dispatch the villainous Teeranai. Elyes & Pat face a final conflict when Kim looks to get back into Elyes's life with a kiss that is spied by Pat. Elyes later reveals the part that Pat missed, where he rebuffed Kim's advances. In the end, Elyes & Pat share a romantic dinner with Elyes baring his heart to Pat, who accepts his love for their happy ending.

The series does not shy away from its depictions of sex, violence, and multiple queer pairings, fitting it perfectly into the new generation of BL dramas.
