Things Like This ⁞⁞ Movie Spotlight

The romantic comedy Things Like This follows two New York residents who become star-crossed lovers. Zack Mandel (Joey Pollari) is an assistant to a bossy talent agent, dealing with a loveless relationship, and the lurking weight of his father's disappointment. The carefree Zack Anthony (Max Talisman) is a struggling writer who spends his mounting free time cultivating an unhealthy diet and hoping for his big creative break. When the two Zacks cross paths randomly, they soon realize that they share a childhood past. A second chance encounter at the local bar leads to them bonding even more when Anthony inadvertently injures Mandel's nose. As they reminisce, and reveal that they were each others' first kiss during their summer camp theater past, it leads to a kiss in the present.

This causes Mandel to begin questioning everything in his life, from his thankless job to his unfulfilling romance. After he discovers his boyfriend Eric (Taylor Trensch) cheating on him and explodes on his boss, he is left jobless and homeless, sending him back to his overbearing father Paul (Eric Roberts). Meanwhile, Anthony finds himself in crisis as well. His determination to shun human connection and potential new love has him conflicted on any next steps with his namesake. Things get further complicated when Mandel goes looking to reveal his feelings, only to stumble upon a misunderstanding with Anthony's shirtless friend Peter in Anthony's apartment. Guided by their friends, the two Zacks take journeys to find their peace and success, which ends up leading them back to love, as Anthony finally takes a chance on romance.

The film was written and directed by Max Talisman. In addition to leading men Pollari & Talisman and Taylor Trensch, the film also featured appearances from queer performers Nicholas Hamilton, Steven Clark, Crawford Horton & Willam Belli
