My Life with the Walter Boys - Season 2 ⁞⁞ Series Spotlight

Season 2 of the Netflix drama My Life with the Walter Boys continued the story of teen Jackie Howard (Nikki Rodriguez) as she rejoined the Walter family after a summer away. With school back in session, it meant a return to teen drama. One of the Walter boys, Nathan (Corey Fogelmanis), continued his own personal teen drama as his romance with Jackie's pal Skylar (Jaylan Evans) reached a new direction with Nathan revealing to Skylar that he wanted to join the school newspaper to beef up his extracurricular activities, and spend more time with his boyfriend. Newspaper editor Skylar agreed to have him on staff, but warned him that while they were working, he was in charge. Nathan later shared a chance encounter in the locker room with his classmate Zach (Carson MacCormac), where Zach called out the indie band on Nathan's shirt, leading them to bond briefly over their shared love of music. Skylar later introduced Zach as a photographer on the school newspaper staff, surprising Nathan. With the trio working together on newspaper features, it became clear that Zach had eyes for Nathan. This didn't go unnoticed by Skylar, who revealed to Nathan that he thought Zach had a crush on him. Nathan brushed it off, despite Zach advocating for Nathan to get more music articles for the newspaper.

With Skylar growing more involved with Jackie's campaign to get funding for the school's big formal, Nathan found himself the subject of Zach's photography, which he freely shared with Nathan. Skylar surprised Nathan with a public invitation to the school formal, employing the school's cheerleaders at a football game. With Zach watching, Nathan accepted the invitation and kiss from Skylar, who made sure that Zach saw them. This continued at the dance, with Skylar again kissing Nathan while making sure that Zach saw them. Zach was not giving up, though, as he and Nathan met at the punch bowl, accidentally touching hands. As they laughed together, Zach urged Nathan to fight for what he wanted at the newspaper, while also revealing he was willing to fight for what he wanted: Nathan. This caused Nathan to kiss him, unaware that Skylar was watching. While Nathan experienced instant regret, Skylar was furious. Their confrontation led to Skylar dumping him. Zach wasted no time helping Nathan pick up the pieces with a very public make-out in the school hallway, witnessed by several students, including Skylar. While Skylar attempted to move on by throwing himself into helping Jackie in her bid to become class president, Nathan found himself passing on his passions, including his band, in order to spend more time with Zach on his hobbies.

Nathan's older brother Alex (Ashby Gentry) brought this to Nathan's attention, but he dismissed him. When Skylar later warned Nathan not to lose himself in Zach, hinting at some secret knowledge, Nathan urged him to explain more, only for Skylar to suggest he ask Zach more about his past. Nathan did just that, getting Zach to admit that he previously hooked up with Skylar, back when he was a closeted freshman. Zach revealed that Skylar broke things off with him because he wanted to be in a relationship that wasn't a secret. Zach told Nathan that he came out after that, but Skylar had already moved on with Nathan. This caused Nathan to wonder if Zach only pursued him for revenge, but Zach disputed that. Later, however, Zach went to Skylar, revealing that he indeed wanted to be with him, not Nathan. Skylar was stunned at the revelation, questioning Zach's character. In the end, Nathan revealed that he broke things off with Zach after finding out the truth. He apologized for mistreating Skylar and giving in to the attention that Zach was throwing at him. He told Skylar that he loved him and wanted to get back together. Skylar admitted to loving Nathan too, but told him that he couldn't trust him, ending the season with their relationship still over.
