The 'Burbs (1x6-1x7) ⁞⁞ Episode Spotlight

Episode 6 of the Peacock streaming series The 'Burbs, found leading lady Samira's (Keke Palmer) continued investigation into her suburban neighborhood's mysteries interrupted by the arrival of her gay brother Langston (RJ Cyler). With her cul-de-sac crew turning their attention to their neighbor and friend Lynn, given her recent suspicious behavior, their efforts were split as they continued to dig into the secrets of the mysterious Gary, who appeared to be keeping Betsy, the high school friend of Samira's husband Rob (Jack Whitehall), hostage in his rundown house. Langston's visit, however, turned out to be perfect timing as he announced he was there to spend some quality time with his baby nephew Miles, in order to give Samira & Rob the opportunity to get out of the house and have some couple's time. While he hoped a day out would help them get over Samira's recent suspicions about her husband's involvement with Betsy's disappearance, which she had shared with her brother, Samira & Rob used the time to follow Gary to squeeze him for information while keeping him from his house so that Rob's best friend Naveen could go check on Betsy. 

Left alone with an infant, it wasn't long before Langston found himself bored in the house. He took Miles for a walk and spotted Samira's pals Tod (Mark Proksch) and the lesbian Dana (Paula Pell) spying on Lynn. He introduced himself and revealed that Samira had shared their secret investigation with him, and he was looking for something interesting to do, knowing they were up to something. Dana & Tod let him in on their mission to spy on Lynn to discover what she had been hiding. They used a drone to spot her coming from the woods back to her house. The trio headed over to her house for further spying, but Langston got left behind thanks to Miles needing a diaper change. When he caught back up with Dana & Tod at Lynn's house, they quickly got rid of him, after witnessing Lynn moving a dead body in her house. Langston was left disappointed by them usher him off and he returned to Samira & Rob's house with Miles. 

Episode 7 found him still there, cleaning up after putting Miles down for a nap. After getting Betsy to leave the house with her, Samira planned to take her back to hers, but Betsy freaked out when she spied Langston through the window. She begged Samira to get rid of her brother, despite Samira explaining that Langston would be cool with things. Samira went inside alone, interrupting her brother as he danced in the kitchen, taking him by surprise. He then revealed that he was actually having fun in the suburbs. Samira thanked him for all of his help but told him he needed to go, so that he wouldn't pull her back into old habits by showing her what she was missing from the city. Langston understood that she was happy in her boring era and had found her people. He made his exit, allowing her mission to continue.
