Running Point (2x6-2x7) ⁞⁞ Episode Spotlight

The Netflix comedy Running Point follows the Gordon family, led by Isla (Kate Hudson), as they navigate the sports world, running the fictional Los Angeles Waves basketball team. Episode 6 of the second season found Isla's younger gay half-brother Sandy (Drew Tarver) with a dilemma as the family announced the signing of hot new point guard Tommy White (Jake Picking). Sandy watched the press conference from off-camera along with the team's chief of staff Ali (Brenda Song) and he quickly noticed Tommy potentially making eyes in his direction. Sandy & Ali took on the task of finding a house for Tommy to rent and a tour of a mansion bedroom led Tommy to inquire about Sandy's opinion on the bed, getting Ali's attention. She quickly deduced that Tommy was into Sandy and urged him to reciprocate. While Sandy admitted that it seemed Tommy might be flirting, he knew it would be unprofessional for him to get involved with a player. Ali later found Sandy scrolling through Tommy's social media and got him to admit his interest. He charged her with trying to find out if Tommy was straight. Ali later met with Tommy in the locker room to finalize his house rental. She chatted him up about concert tickets and he mentioned having a girl coming to town. She texted Sandy, revealing that Tommy was straight. However, after the big game, Sandy found Tommy waiting by his car. Tommy wondered what Sandy was up to that night. The confused Sandy was then caught off-guard by a kiss, followed by Tommy suggesting that he stay with Sandy instead of renting a house. Sandy agreed. 

Episode 7 began with the two in bed after having sex. They discussed how to move forward, as Sandy worried about people seeing them together in public. Tommy suggested he sign an NDA and Sandy obliged. Sexual bliss, however, quickly turned into a nightmare for Sandy as he learned about Tommy's raging sex drive. Tommy showed up at his office while Sandy was in a meeting, looking to have sex there. Later, Sandy got a message from Tommy, leading him to the locker room where Tommy revealed he actually wanted sex. They were interrupted by the rest of the basketball team, forcing Sandy to hide in a laundry cart where he was soon covered by nasty towels and clothes from the sweaty team. He went to Ali, looking for help to break things off since he couldn't keep up with Tommy's sexual whims, but she warned him to keep going with Tommy, fearing it would ruin the Waves winning streak if he wasn't kept happy. Tommy later surprised Sandy with the news that his manager found him a house. Sandy was relieved until Tommy revealed that he was more interested in staying with Sandy. When Sandy tried to lightly push Tommy in the other direction, Tommy got upset. When he referenced how his last break-up led to a multi-game losing streak, Sandy assured him that he didn't actually want to break up. The happy Tommy declared it their anniversary and hugged Sandy, looking forward to celebrating their continued secret romance.
