There's a Zombie Outside ⁞⁞ Halloween 2026

There's a Zombie Outside is an independent psychological horror film from writer and director Michael Varrati. It centers on Adam (Ben Baur), a filmmaker struggling to find success in the world of cult cinema. He is supported by his boyfriend Ollie (Ty Chen) and close friends, Louis (Francisco Chacin) and Zeke (William Lott), who join him on a birthday retreat, where he grows paranoid, believing he's spotted the monster from his latest script outside of their cabin. The friends cross paths with handsome local Dylan (Danny Plotner), whom Adam thinks get mauled to death by the undead monster in the woods nearby. With no one else seeing this danger in the dark, Adam begins to wonder if the creature is a manifestation of his crumbling psyche, especially when he later runs into Dylan after returning to the city, seemingly unharmed. As his reality begins to blur with his dark world of fiction, the monster seems to creep further into his life, exhibiting a demented desire for him, leaving Adam unable to distinguish fact from fiction. This is further complicated as his circle of friends begin to fall victim to the growing danger, causing Adam to wonder if the monstrous zombie stalking him may just be a violent force growing inside of him as he tries to bring his script to life. The queer cast also includes famed drag queen Peaches Christ, who appears in a cameo.
