Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake ⁞⁞ Series Spotlight

Given the reality-bending multiverse of the animated series Adventure Time, it comes as no surprise that the spinoff  series, Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake follows alternate versions of characters from the original Adventure Time universe. Like several other characters including the title duo, Gary Prince (voiced by Andrew Rannells) and Marshall Lee (voiced by Donald Glover) are gender-swapped human versions of original Adventure Time characters, with Gary being a human version of Princess Bubblegum and Marshall being a human version of Marceline the Vampire Queen. Those two original female characters shared a complicated history including some allusions to romance. In this alternate universe, a romance openly develops between Fionna's friends, friendly baker Gary & high society misfit Marshall, who come together to help Fionna & Cake fight for their world against a threat looking to wipe out the multiverse. The MAX series has been renewed for a second season.
