Pit Babe ⁞⁞ BL Spotlight

The romantic drama Pit Babe is a genre-bender, blending elements of comedy, romance, sports, action, supernatural, and thriller.

The popular Babe is a top race car driver in his racing circuit with heightened senses that work to his advantage in races. He sees sex as a way of relieving stress before his races. Babe crosses paths with Charlie, a huge fan with his own dreams of becoming a race car driver. He looks to his idol for help achieving his goal and Babe sees opportunity in Charlie's request, as sparks immediately fly between the two. The two strike up a casual sexual relationship while Babe takes Charlie under his wing at the race track. While Babe's team assumes the new connection won't last, Charlie's presence appears to soften Babe and the two become inseparable, leading to some suspicions about Charlie's motives from the other race team members.

The arrival of the reserved and tech-savvy mechanic Jeff on the team also raises some suspicions, while he catches the eye of Alan, the team owner and Babe's close friend. Things get more complicated as it's revealed that Charlie & Jeff share a connection as well. The emergence of Tony, a sponsor who has major negative history with Babe, causes serious drama when Tony announces his company's investment in Babe's rival team, with hopes of bringing down Babe at any cost. It's revealed that Tony's company engaged in human trafficking to experiment on young boys, leading to them gaining supernatural abilities. Things turn dangerous for everyone involved, as attacks, threats and sabotage ensue. When Charlie appears to be killed after his car is sabotaged, Babe is devastated and out for revenge, especially after learning that, like him, Charlie was also a past subject of Tony's experimentation.

With sex as a major part of the series' overall plot, it's no surprise that the series features several steamy scenes featuring not only Babe & Charlie, but also Alan & Jeff. The series is also full of gay content, as history comes into play for supporting characters Pete & Kenta. Flashbacks reveal their past friendship and how it almost crossed a line into romance. In the present, Pete takes an interest in Way, Babe's best friend and fellow racer who continues to harbor a crush on him, though Babe is not interested in him romantically. Way's fate in the series finale, however, ends any potential romance for him. There is also a pronounced closeness between supporting characters North & Sonic, who are often shown filming the drivers, though their relationship is never properly defined on the series.

Pit Babe is one of the few BL dramas with no established female characters.
