Femme ⁞⁞ Movie Spotlight

The dramatic UK thriller Femme follows Jules (Nathan Stewart-Jarrett), a drag performer who gets into an exchange with a group of misogynists while in drag. This leads to a brutal homophobic attack by one of the men, Preston (George MacKay). Jules' life and drag career are brought to an abrupt stop, despite three months passing. As Jules struggles to regain control of his life, he randomly crosses paths with Preston once again, at a gay sauna. When Jules realizes that Preston doesn't recognize him, and is secretly gay himself, he sets a plan in motion to take back his power through revenge. The two begin a sexual relationship, as Jules attempts to set Preston up for his revenge porn scheme, but when Preston's affection for Jules solidifies, Jules is left struggling with his own feelings. Preston's guard lowers, allowing Jules to get the footage he needs, but he hesitates to use it. Jules' close friend, and ex-boyfriend, Toby (John McCrea) works to bring Jules out of his funk and to re-embrace his drag, but is slightly annoyed when Preston & Jules' relationship is revealed. Without Jules' knowledge, Toby invites Preston to Jules' big return to drag for his birthday, not revealing Jules' career to Preston. Preston attends the party and when the truth comes out, the drama culminates in a major blowout that threatens to destroy both men.
