Down Low ⁞⁞ Movie Spotlight

The comedy Down Low tells the story of Gary (Zachary Quinto), a middle-aged divorced man attempting to embrace his homosexuality. When he hires free-wheeling masseuse Cameron (Lukas Gage), what begins with a happy ending on the message table, ends with both men's lives changed forever. After learning of Gary's repressed lifestyle, Cameron takes it upon himself to give him a crash course in sex. He introduces Gary to a sex app and they are soon joined by Sammy (Sebastian Arroyo), a man on the down low, looking to engage with Cameron, not Gary. This leads to a confrontation that ends with him accidentally falling through a window. Believing he's dead, Cameron convinces Gary to help him hide the body and they call upon Buck (Simon Rex), a fixer from the dark web to help them clear up the crime scene. Along the way, Gary's panic gives way to exploration as he comes to terms with himself and his potential future with Cameron's help. When Sammy regains consciousness, the duo are relieved, until the unhinged Buck steps in, wanting the body as payment. Cameron & Gary have to come together in the climactic melee to fight for their own lives and after seemingly wrapping up the drama, Cameron helps Gary lose his gay virginity. The two part ways, only for Cameron to later learn of Gary's death, putting him on a new mission to fulfill Gary's wish for his body to be buried at sea. In addition to his starring role, Gage also co-wrote the film with Phoebe Fisher
