Interview with the Vampire - Season 2 ⁞⁞ Series Spotlight

Season 2 of the AMC drama Interview with the Vampire deepened the the history of the show's characters, further delving into Louie's history. After the revelation that his servant Rashid was actually his great love Armand ended the first season, Armand joined Louis (Jacob Anderson) in his continued interviews with reporter Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian). Through flashbacks, Louis detailed his voyage from America to Paris, alongside his beloved vampire sister Claudia (Delainey Hayles). Haunted along the way by the specter of his toxic lover Lestat (Sam Reid), Louis looked for a path forward. Louis & Claudia crossed paths with Armand (Assad Zaman) and were invited into a theater troupe composed of vampires, putting on shows showcasing various atrocities that they trick their human audiences into believing are all just part of the show. Louis isn't wholly comfortable, especially after learning that Lestat was once a celebrated member of the troupe. In the present, Daniel soon finds their interviews taking a strange turn as Louis experiences odd memory loss and Daniel himself becomes haunted by memories from their first interview back in the 80's, which now appear to include Armand. Louis & Armand's blossoming love is chronicled, as Armand helps Louis move past his troubled past with Lestat, but Armand's greater power presents new conflict in their relationship, not dissimilar to his past with Lestat. Flashbacks revealed young Daniel's (Luke Brandon Field) history with Louis & Armand, as well as Armand's history with Lestat, which included luring his attention away from a romance with Nicolas (Joseph Potter). When things go wrong with the vampires in Paris, Louis & Claudia find themselves on trial for their attempted killing of Lestat, who appears alive and well to testify against them in front of the theater audience. With Armand caught in the middle of the conflict, Louis is torn apart when Claudia is condemned to death, burned alive in the sunlight while a conflicted Lestat watches. Louis lays waste to the vampire troupe, leading back to the present where Daniel exposes Armand's role in the trial, sending Louis over the edge. He ends the interviews, breaks off things with Armand and seeks a final resolution with Lestat. Hearing vampire voices from across the world calling for his death due to his crimes against his own kind, Louis reveals his location and dares them to pay him a visit.
