Deceitful Love ⁞⁞ Series Spotlight
The Italian Netflix drama Deceitful Love (Inganno) tells a twisted tale of romance and deception occurring within a wealthy Italian family whose secrets and dramas are heightened and exposed by the arrival of the handsome Elia (Giacomo Gianniotti), who strikes up a love affair with hotel owner and matriarch Gabriella (Monica Guerritore). When their growing romance is discovered by her three adult children, and their father, the family dynamics are thrown for a loop. Oldest son Stefano (Emanuel Caserio) immediately fears for his mother's safety, causing him to enlist the help of Mattia (Gabriele Stella), a police officer whom he is having an affair with. Mattia & Stefano carry on their affair, as Mattia investigates. When he hits some initial roadblocks, Stefano works to prove to his mother that Elia is bad news. Stefano's relationship with his wife Ester (Liliana Bottone) is on the rocks as well, while the two struggle with the challenges of their marriage and raising their young daughter.
Meanwhile, Gabriella's younger son Nico (Francesco Del Gaudio) has a chance encounter with Elia, prior to Elia meeting his mother. After catching his eye at a bar, Nico is encouraged by his close friends Luana (Mariacarla Casillo) & Eric (Renato Coppola) to talk to the handsome man. Seeing Nico's awkward attempt to flirt, and his friends watching, Elia humors him with a kiss. When Nico later crosses paths with Elia in his home, in his underwear, he is immediately shocked and suspicious, especially after learning of Elia's relationship with his mother. Despite the discovery, Nico finds his emotions conflicted as Elia attempts to keep him on his side in the family conflict. Elia hosts Nico for a day out on his boat and even allows Nico to kiss him again, before making it clear that he is only interested in Gabriella. This upsets Nico, getting him into drunken trouble, which Elia rescues him from, relieving his parents. When Elia discovers Stefano's affair with Mattia, he uses it to blackmail him into ending his vendetta against him. With the family business on the line, the drama ends up in court, leading to a major secret revealed from Gabriella & Stefano's past. In the end, Stefano makes peace with Elia, after Mattia breaks things off with him, knowing he will not end his marriage for their love.
Hey. The first time I found your blog was through a post of a specific movie/show and I remember specifically a shot of a guy's tee riding up to show his abdomen (riding up by itself, not him grabbing and lifting it up). But it seems like I've lost it and I haven't memorized the title. Any idea of what that was? I know it's a long shot.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment! I'm not sure what movie/show it would be. The image doesn't ring a bell.
DeleteIs there anyway I can send you a visual example? I have another scene that it's similar but it's not the one I'm referring to because that was from a gay film or TV show. The example I got is from a straight sex comedy.
DeleteThanks, Alonso. I understand what you're looking for. I did a search around and didn't see any images with shirt riding up. Is there anything else you remember about the image you saw here? Was the guy the only one in the image? Do you remember anything about his appearance? Hair color? Was it in a specific place or night time or day time? If you remember when you saw the image, you can look back at posts from around that time to see if that leads you back to it.
DeleteOh thank you so much for searching around. I'm sorry if it was a waste of your time, hopefully you didn't have nothing better to do, but i really, really appreciate it. Answering your questions: yes, the guy was the only one in that specific shot, but not in the scene. You see, the camera showed him stretching/raising his arms and then there was a close up of his shirt coming up, revealing the lower abdomen area, as if it was being stared at by the other guy in front of him. It was day, but as for the guy's appearance that is very bland because all I can tell you is, he was white. I don't remember his face because the focus in the shot was his stomach. But your idea is great and i'm trying to remember when I saw this. I follow a few blogs similar to yours (as in, shots of movies and shows with gay characters or fit guys, I'm starting to wonder if i could have been in another blog, but i'm 100% sure it was from a gay show and yours is the one most focused on that), so that can be a bit tricky but I have an idea of how I can remember when I saw it and then look through dates. I hadn't thought about that. I'll let you know if I find it here if you want. Once again I'm sorry if I wasted your time, but thank you so much. I really love the blog, keep up the good work.
DeleteIt's no trouble, Alonso. I appreciate the kind words and I'm glad you're enjoying the blog.
