No Way Up ⁞⁞ Halloween 2024

No Way Up is part disaster thriller, part creature feature, and full of horror as a group of people aboard a flight to Mexico must fight for survival when the plane goes down in the Pacific Ocean, leaving them in a precarious position in shark infested waters. Flight attendant Danilo (Manuel Pacific) provides the film's gay content. He's shown from the start greeting the film's notable characters as they board the plane, along with his fellow flight attendant Madison (Peppijna Dalli). This includes the governor's daughter leading lady Ava (Sophie McIntosh), her boyfriend Jed (Jeremias Amoore), his wise-cracking best friend Kyle (Will Attenborough) and her long-time bodyguard Brandon (Colm Meaney). Danilo is forced to endure Kyle's near-constant gay jokes as Danilo is assigned to the rear of the plane where the trio are seated. He also takes note of an elderly couple, traveling with their granddaughter Rosa (Grace Nettle), wondering how long they've been married, as it had him thinking of his own relationship, which would later be revealed. After birds collide with the plane, it goes down. Madison is sucked out of the craft as it begins to break apart upon descent. With most of the passengers dead on arrival in the ocean, Danilo and the survivors, including his tormentor Kyle, must come together to survive in an air pocket at the rear of the plane, as it teeters on the edge of an underwater cliff. 

As the only surviving crew member, Danilo's knowledge of emergency procedures and the airplane itself comes in handy and allows them to access the luggage compartment where they retrieve wet suits while planning their escape as the sharks begin to pick off the survivors and the two rescue divers that first locate them. While helping the injured Kyle get his wet suit on, Danilo revealed that he was hoping to get home to marry his partner. Expecting another joke from Kyle, he was surprised when Kyle instead says his partner is a lucky man. As the plane becomes completely submerged and a shark gets inside, Ava, Danilo & young Rosa are all that's left alive. Ava distracts the creature long enough for Danilo to get Rosa out of the plane, using the air tank from one of the dead rescue divers. She later makes her way to the surface, as the plane falls away deeper into the ocean. She is terrified to not find them on the surface as helicopters arrive, pulling her to safety. She is relieved to find both Danilo & Rosa onboard.
