Confessions of a Christmas Letter ⁞⁞ Christmas 2024

The Hallmark holiday family comedy Confessions of a Christmas Letter follows The Office alum Angela Kinsey as eccentric matriarch Settie Rose, looking to win her neighborhood's annual holiday Christmas letter contest and a spot on the holiday committee's Wall of Fame. Settie is obsessed with making everything perfect for the holiday to avoid judgment from her grumpy neighbor Sue. Determined to compose the perfect family Christmas letter, Settie hires struggling novelist Juan to ghost write the letter, which causes more lies when the neighbors assume he is her daughter Lily's new beau and Settie gets the family to go along with the ruse. The film's gay content comes courtesy of Settie's son Jack (Jake Foy), who rebels against his mother's efforts to gain attention. Coming off his honeymoon with his husband Bradley (Jeff Avenue), the couple decide to enjoy their newlywed life and not participate upon hearing of Settie's desire to compete again this year after a disastrous incident the year before. Jack, at first, wants nothing to do with his mother's overbearing control of the holiday with her traditions. This causes Settie to keep Jack in the dark about Juan. When he runs into Juan (Alec Santos) & Lily (Lillian Doucet-Roche) and gets wind of Settie's scheme, Jack is unable to stay away, despite not wanting his marriage put on public display in the letter. Jack & Bradley end up joining in the holiday fun, celebrating with their family and allowing Settie to include them in her letter, after she learns that the true meaning of Christmas isn't about winning over the neighborhood for attention but about celebrating the family.
