The Holiday Exchange ⁞⁞ Christmas 2024
The romance The Holiday Exchange tells the story of successful businessman Wilde (Taylor Frey), still getting over a major break-up with his partner Sean (Kyle Dean Massey) while preparing to sell his company. Feeling frustrated with the thought of being so close to the past for the holidays, Wilde looks to escape his romantic woes in L.A. and the cheerful support of his mother Lola (Kyle Richards). He connects with another gay single, Oliver (Rick Cosnett), through an LGBTQ+ app for Airbnb rentals. Lured by the snowy locale of Oliver's town of Brilfax, Wilde reaches out about renting his place for Christmas. Oliver, facing his own stagnant life, takes the offer and opportunity to visit the states. The two agree to swap houses, which unexpectedly puts Oliver on the path to meeting and falling in love with his new favorite author, Julius Nasser (Samer Salem), who lives in town and is promoting his book and charity. Sparks fly between them almost immediately, though it doesn't stop interference from Julius' one-time hookup, celeb-chaser Van (Nick Adams). Over in Europe, Wilde acclimates to the new cold climate and small town, where he meets Oliver's actor cousin Henry (Daniel Garcia). The two begin bonding as well, leading to new romantic feelings in Wilde, who remains reluctant to take another chance on love. But with Henry showing him around town, he's unable to avoid falling in love. Both couples overcome minor dramas and make their holiday love connections. They join together for New Year's, allowing Wilde to reunite with his mother as they all celebrate their happy futures. The film also featured appearances from queer actors Joe Aaron Reid, Colton Tran, and Blake Cooper Griffin. Frey pulled double duty for the film, also writing the script.
