Deck the Walls ⁞⁞ Christmas 2024
The Hallmark original Deck the Walls follows the brother-sister duo of Rose (Ashley Greene) and Sal (Danny Pellegrino), maintaining their relationship long-distance as Rose works as a successful interior designer in Chicago, while Sal runs his hometown construction business in Ohio, with his best friend Brysen (Wes Brown). When his latest holiday charity renovation project faces a major budget cut from the mayor, Sal calls on his sister to return home to help him get it done in time for the publicized Christmas Eve reveal. This puts her on a collision course with her childhood nemesis Brysen, especially when she returns to find he's moved in with Sal and their Aunt Gigi (Carolyn Hennesy), who raised the siblings after the deaths of their parents. While simmering feelings between Rose & Brysen work their way to the surface during the renovation, Sal finds himself also revisiting the past in the form of his childhood arch nemesis Jake Hunter (Claybourne Elder), now working as a reporter who is covering the public charity remodel. Sal is immediately annoyed at his presence until he does some digging and discovers that his parents led a charity renovation project decades before to help Jake's family when their home was damaged by a fire. Sal & Jake connect and discover that childhood trauma of Jake's led to his adversarial behavior with Sal, who was unaware of his family's hardship at the time. Sal reveals that he thought Jake's attitude towards him was because he was gay, leading Jake to reveal that wasn't true because he's gay too, surprising Sal. With all hands on deck, the holiday renovation completes in time for the big reveal, despite some last-minute winter storm damage. Rose pauses her return to Chicago to get cozy with Brysen and revive their parent's charity with Sal. As for Sal & Jake, Sal learns that Jake anonymously donated money to help the renovation reach its goal to make up for their past misunderstanding. With the news coverage over, Sal invites him to stay and celebrate with the family so they can start truly getting to know one another, and potentially explore their own romantic spark. In addition to his starring role, Danny Pellegrino also co-wrote the script.
