Heartstopper - Season 3 ⁞⁞ Series Spotlight

Season 3 of the Netflix teen romance Heartstopper found the show's characters facing new challenges as their lives grew more complicated. Leading men Charlie (Joe Locke) and Nick (Kit Connor) kicked off the season by openly professing their love to one another for the first time. This came on the heels of Nick revealing his belief that Charlie might have an eating disorder. Though Charlie disputed that, he would gradually come to face the truth of his eating disorder, which Nick helped him reveal to his family so that he could get help. Charlie's move to a facility to help with his condition led to separation for the two, as Nick struggled to come to terms with his own identity, outside of his relationship. He turned his attention to university, along with several of their friends. Looking to regain control of his mental health, his body, and his life, Charlie faced conflict with his mother as he sought to take his relationship with Nick to the next level. In the end, Nick & Charlie lost their virginity together and found some sense of independence outside their relationship. Season 3 also saw advancement in the relationship between their teachers, Mr. Ajayi (Fisayo Akinade) and Mr. Farouk (Nima Taleghani). The two tried to keep their romance quiet at work, only to find themselves failing, due to the observant nature of the students and their inability to keep their distance at the school. Isaac (Tobie Donovan) grew more comfortable in his asexuality and revealed that and his aromantic identity to his friends. He continued his supportive friendship with his one-time crush James (Bradley Riches) who revealed he had been learning more about asexuality.
