Juice - Season 2 ⁞⁞ Series Spotlight
Season 2 of the British comedy Juice found leading man Jamma (Mawaan Rizwan) beginning the six-episode second series jobless, single, and couch-surfing at his friend Winnie's place. He's forced to work as a clown, while trying to get over his lost love Guy (Russell Tovey), who remains friends with Jamma's brother Isaac (Nabhaan Rizwan). When the two exes cross paths at an art event hosted by Isaac, they end up the subjects of flirtation for Lloyd (Chuku Modu). Ultimately, their attempted threesome is ruined by awkwardness. Jamma & Guy do attempt to be friends, with Jamma fumbling his way through house-sitting for Guy, attempting an extreme makeover, and trying to respect boundaries. After fantasizing that Guy has found a new man and started a family, Jamma meets Nigel (Julian Ovenden) who turns out to be the man from his dream. Jamma finds himself unable to move on, becoming determined to get Guy back, and away from Nigel.
Meanwhile, Guy is busy working on his book, which Nigel is working with him to get published, with no romantic connection between them. Jamma tags along with Guy to visit his estranged family, where he looks to find his old diary to help with his writing inspiration. With the two under the same roof, they find themselves getting closer. When Guy's book launch event venue gets double-booked with a wedding, Jamma works to make sure that it still goes off successfully, ultimately leading to a reunion between him and Guy after he learns Nigel is straight and married. The series also featured a guest appearance from Charlie Quirke playing Liam, one of Jamma's attempted rebound hookups that also goes wrong when Winnie & Isaac interrupt them. Mawaan Rizwan also acts as series creator, producer and writer on the series.
