The Vampire Lestat ⁞⁞ Series Spotlight

The third season of the AMC series Interview with the Vampire, appropriately titled The Vampire Lestat, shifted the drama's narrative focus to Lestat (Sam Reid) in the present day as he carried on a new career, fronting his own rock band on their world tour, which would become the inflection point for a catastrophic event that would threaten the entire world. Burned by the publishing of Daniel Molloy's Interview with the Vampire, chronicling the unreliable recollections of his great love Louis, Lestat looked to set the record straight with a documentary of his rock journey, directed by the newly-turned vampire Daniel (Eric Bogosian). Lestat reveled in his modest stardom, evading Daniel's probing questions about his past, and dodging attempts by other vampires to end his immortality. However, he was soon forced to confront a much more personal secret: his relationship with his mother Gabriella whom he turned into a vampire, leading to them beginning a decades-long affair, which continued as she joined him on tour in the present.

Lestat was also forced to reckon with his relationship with Louis (Jacob Anderson), who underwent his own rebrand in the present as businessman Thomas Pitt. The former lovers found themselves crossing paths on several occasions, allowing Lestat the opportunity to confront Louis over his book while probing him on his personal life, and his casual relationship with his lawyer and fellow vampire Lemuel (Moses Sumney). Louis would embark on his own mission to right the wrongs of the past, when he hunted down Bruce, the vampire who brutally assaulted his daughter Claudia, only to find himself drawn to a waitress who shared an uncanny resemblance to the deceased vampire he shared with Lestat. This caused Louis' mental health to deteriorate, causing him to reach out to Lestat to regain some control.

With Louis & Lestat growing closer once again, the return of their shared ex, Armand (Assad Zaman) led to tension as Armand looked to make his own amends, while harboring a dark motive as he feared Lestat's music would reach too many vampires, leading to The Great Conversion, which would have vampires outnumbering humans, leading to devastation for all. Armand reached out to his progeny Daniel, looking to gain his trust and loyalty, despite having forced him to become a vampire, which Armand revealed was caused by his love for Daniel that developed decades earlier, after their first meeting. Lestat was by Louis' side for a séance that allowed them to interact with Claudia's spirit, leading to another reckoning as they learned how much she hated them for all they inflicted upon her.

With all of the dramas mounted around them, including Louis' shock at Lestat's relationship with his mother, the two vampires still appeared on the verge of a romantic reunion, as Lestat contemplated cancelling his farewell concert that Gabriella was certain would kick off The Great Conversion. Armand & Daniel would step in, decapitating both Lestat & Louis. With the clock ticking on their lives, Armand attempted to force Louis into apologizing for his past wrongs towards him while Lestat was confronted by the relationships of his past, facing all his progeny as well as his maker Magnus (Damien Atkins). He came full circle on his past romance with the bipolar violinist Nicky (Joseph Potter), his incestuous life with Gabriella, the assault by Magnus that led to him becoming a vampire, and the true meaning of his relationship with Louis, before awakening to find his head had been re-attached, as had Louis', allowing them a reunion and confrontation with Gabriella over The Great Conversion.
