Heartstopper Forever ⁞⁞ Movie Spotlight

The UK Netflix romance Heartstopper Forever brought the story of Charlie Spring (Joe Locke) and Nick Nelson (Kit Connor) to its conclusion, as the weight of the future provided the final challenge to their relationship. Charlie hoped to enact change at their school in his new role as Head Boy, hoping to put an end to bullying and build a support system for queer students, like the young Alfie (Caleb Evers), with the help of his friends and his queer teachers Mr. Ajayi (Fisayo Akinade) and Mr. Farouk (Nima Taleghani) whose relationship is revealed to their students.. Meanwhile, Nick struggled with his decision to attend university in Leeds, which would put him hours away from Charlie, causing him to drink excessively. With Nick fearing for Charlie's mental health and Charlie believing that being Nick's sole focus isn't healthy for Nick, they are further challenged by the break-up of their close friends Tao & Elle. 

With the notion in the air that teenage romance doesn't last, pressures mount, leading to a confrontation that causes them to end things, despite neither wanting to break-up. Charlie is consoled by his friends, while his eating disorder flares up. Nick withdraws from everyone, pouring his attention into helping dogs in his shelter job. Charlie shares a fateful encounter with an older gay couple, Pete (Derek Jacobi) & Len (Richard Clifford), which leaves him once again thinking about his future, while Nick has a heart-to-heart with his mother about the realities of love. This leads the boys back to one another, finally fully opening up about their feelings and fears. They reunite just in time for prom night, where they celebrate with their friends and teachers. They share a heart-to-heart of their own, realizing that their hopes for a future together don't have to be stifled by distance. An epilogue revealed that Nick had settled in at Leeds, while Charlie makes the journey to visit him, leading to another happy reunion as the two reminisce about the past via Nick's scrapbook of memories.
