4 Minutes ⁞⁞ BL Spotlight

The racy time-bending crime drama 4 Minutes mixes the elements of several different genres, including romance, thriller, and science fiction. The series squarely positions itself in the modern wave of BL drama, with multiple gay romance plots, heightened violence, and male nudity.

Great is the son of a successful business man. With his wealthy family's high profile business leading to elevation of his brother Korn, Great takes a back seat, just as he suddenly develops the ability to see 4 minutes into the future after accidentally hitting a mystery woman with his car. Great struggles to come to terms with this new ability, how it works, and what it means for his ability to shape future events. He then shares another fateful crash, in the hospital, with resident surgeon Tyme. The two bump into one another and Tyme is immediately intrigued as Great experiences another vision. When Great suffers a minor head injury, he's back in the hospital and Tyme coincidentally treats him, leading to more interaction as the attraction between the two becomes obvious to them. Meanwhile, Korn is also busy with his own romantic entanglements with Tonkla, in a secret romance that is complicated by Tonkla's mourning of his brother Dome, who was killed. This leads Tonkla to get closer to police investigator Win, who takes an interest in him while investigating murders around the city.

As Great & Tyme spend more time together getting to know one another, Great confides in him about his strange visions, causing him to seek a medical explanation and solution. The series quickly splits between two realities: one in which Great is changing the future events based on his visions, and the other original timeline where events play out as they were theoretically meant to, without Great's visions and interference. Korn's business dealings soon attract more dangerous characters putting him, Great, and their family in danger. Tyme also finds his own life in danger due to his past. Great's ability to trust in both his family and his new love interest are challenged by his visions, especially when he has a vision showing a masked Tyme making an attempt on Korn's life, increasing the overall mystery. Tonkla continues his passionate affair with Win, attempting to keep it secret from Korn, as his heart drifts more towards Win, who is busy collecting more evidence that implicates Korn. Great is soon also on the road to confronting his family and their business decisions. Win confronts Korn who pulls his gun, just as Tonkla tries to stop him, causing Win to accidentally shoot and kill his secret lover. Unable to face Tonkla's death, Korn ends his own life.

Ultimately, all of these conflicting forces and timelines lead to major danger for leading men Great & Tyme. Great is shot by Dome. Tyme is shot by a hit man seeking revenge. With both men on the verge of death, Great's ability to see the future and make changes to what will happen lead to both men managing to survive their injuries, work through their conflicts and end happily together, just as Great's ability appears to fade away.
