A Merry Little Ex-Mas ⁞⁞ Christmas 2025

The Netflix Christmas movie A Merry Little Ex-Mas follows Kate (Alicia Silverstone), a woman who left behind the city life for love and family. Now, with her marriage to her husband Everett (Oliver Hudson) ending, and her youngest child graduating from high school, she finds herself at a crossroads just in time for Christmas. While the spouses hope to have one final family holiday before their divorce, the revelation that Everett has a new girlfriend triggers a chaotic holiday week that has Kate rethinking her future. Despite her marriage crumbling, Kate remains close to Everett's adoptive fathers, Daryl & Mike. The husbands Daryl & Mike join their grandchildren in apologizing to Kate for not revealing Everett's new romance, which they had been keeping secret. The reserved and wise Mike (Derek McGrath) dispenses advice when Kate needs it, while the more excitable Daryl (Geoffrey Owens) helps her express her emotions. Mike & Daryl also own the town's hardware store, where Kate spends a lot of her time stocking up for her handy-woman business. Mike & Daryl provide support as Kate begins to spiral, while also joining their family for multiple festive events, including the yearly gingerbread competition, where the couple decides to judge instead of compete, believing it will give Kate an edge against Everett and his new girlfriend Tess. They are present for the family gift exchange which is interrupted by a fire, and express their sadness when Kate announces she's leaving town after the divorce. Mike & Daryl are among the guests at the surprise gathering held in Kate's honor after the town experiences a winter storm leaving them all without power, except for Kate.
